A two star rating for parking is "one assigned spot, but a problem with 2 cars." CP receives one star because the probability of getting a parking space within 3 blocks of the building after 5:30pm any given night is about one in ten.
The early-morning into later-evening construction going on at the Nat'l Zoo is quite frustrating, however, the residents are generally quiet and road noise isn't much of a problem - - overall middlin' for noise.
The grounds/landscaping are "Tasteful but nothing special." That sums it up fairly enough. They obviously don't have a staff gardener.
The building was built between 1920 and 1940. It was well constructed but has all the problems of older buildings (except pests - - pest control is superb.) The upkeep has clearly not been the best over the years. The wear clearly shows all over the building. Worn fixtures and faulty wiring. Appliances from the 1970s and 1980s.
The Office Staff is wonderful, bar none.
After reviewing all of this, and in my experiences at other apartments and discussions with other people who live in the area, I would say this is not a first (or second, or third - - or tenth) choice dwelling. Find somewhere else; no disrespect intended to the fine personnel at the Connecticut Plaza.
