Great location...not so great apartment

I have enjoyed my time at Connecticut Plaza for one reason only: the neighborhood. You really cannot beat the location - very close to the metro, great restaurants, beautiful old buildings, nice hotels, and a view of the National Zoo. However, that's where it ends. The apartments are over-priced, and quite out-dated - not in a charming way, but in a "I can't believe they haven't ever renovated these kitchens" way. The construction traffic noise from the zoo starts at (or before) 7:00 a.m. each morning (including weekends), and it is extremely loud. After making it off of a year-long waiting list, you can pay way too much money for a reserved parking spot - or you can spend hours of your life hunting for one on the street every night. The maintenance staff is always very courteous and professional - but the office staff has been a giant pain to deal with, and should generally be avoided at all costs. I would not recommend this building to anyone, and I believe you can find better in this neighborhood.
