Not bad, but...

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006
Pros: Metro access; general FB location, i.e., you can walk to G-town, Dupont, etc.; heat and AC included; close to Watergate Safeway and CVS and Trader Joes; pretty spacious living spaces; NO pests.
Cons: A/C issues (took several weeks to fix last season, weeks w/o A/C and 90 degree heat); hot water an issue, as in it may not be there or it could take a while to heat up, when the heat is turned on (1/2 the year A/C is available and 1/2 the year heat); noise/activity - lots of undergrads, at least 50% of the building if not much, much more - it is generally quiet, but if you get a "party" n'bor, it can be loud; general inattentiveness and communication skills of the Mgmt. Co. (not the live-in manager, she is nice and reports your problems to the Mgmt Co.); small kitchen counter space; after you initial lease expires - the Mgmt Co. WILL raise the rent, appx. 10%.
Essentially, I'd think about moving if I knew I was going to be in DC for more than 1 yr. But I don't, so the Metro access and paid utilities keep me here.
