We had great hopes for living in the Ellington. It has a nice appearance, fairly nice finishing details, amenities, and decent new appliances.
However, even compared with low-end apartments we lived in during our college years, we have never had so many problems with flooding and leaks as in the Ellington. It has been an enormous inconvenience for us. We have one mysterious leak that hasn't been completely located and fixed in over a year. To their credit, they do keep trying, but it took about six months just to get real water remediation specialists in to begin addressing the problem.
The latest was a flood on the Fourth of July. It has been about 16 days since the flood and no one has come by to begin repairing the damage to our unit.
Besides constant water issues, we've noticed the maintence and upkeep on the facilities has declined. They have had problems with the rooftop grills that haven't been fixed since last summer. Their big screen TV in the entertainment room has been broken for at least 4 weeks. Finally, over half the time we are unable to print anything in the business center because the printers are almost always broken.
Overall, we are quite disappointed in our experience at the Ellington and couldn't, in good faith, recommend this place to anyone.
