BAD management makes the whole experience BAD

After living there for 1.5 years and thinking the place was adequate, I quickly realized that Cafritz has no consideration for it's cutomers/clients, and they keep their buildings below standards. After the fire (during which time the fire alarm NEVER went off, causing even greater confusion) we were told we could not stay for 2 days, 2 days later the city condemned the building because it did not meet code standards and needed to be fully rewired. I found out I needed to evacuate through a neighbor and the City representatives, NOT through the Cafritz Company. Cafritz did not bother to nofity any of the tenants about the situation, continuously provided mixed messages, and essentially told its customers (which we are because we pay rent) to fend for themselves. If Id been able to get off work and pack my stuff during the two 4 hour windows they provided us to get stuff for an estimate of 3 to 4 weeks displacement, I wouldve moved out immediately. Needless to say, now that we have been allowed back, Im in the process of moving. A strong percentage of tentants have already left. My apt stinks like a dump truck, there is mold in my fridge, the entire place looks subpar, and there is no access to the basement for who knows how long - meaning NO ONE can do their laundry. More reasons to leave if you havent already. In addition, they are disputing a return of the whole month's rent, arguing they only have to pro-rate. I wouldnt move to ANY building these guys manage.
