I moved into this place about a year ago. It is no four seasons but it really is a fabulous location, and I have had no rodent or pest issues at all. Although the building wasn't built yesterday, the apartments are large and relatively well maintained, and are a great value for the money. Two big plusses are the big windows and closets. If you are looking for a good value for your money, and not looking to throw away a huge chunk of your income on rent, this is definitely a great option.

Actually, I don't know what kind of filth you choose to live in, but I personally am a clean and neat, post-adolescent that hasn't seen a cockroach or bug in my entire time living here. I don't doubt they would come if you live like a slob. And, no offense, but I would hope you don't pay 1500/month if you can't afford it...whoever wrote this response should move to squalor in another neighborhood, and stop screwing up the building for people who actually take care of their surroundings.

The big windows are not "big plusses" if your room is facing Columbia road. They are single-pane and stop no noise. The road is a main artery for ambulances, fire trucks, police, and four metro buses ever 20 minutes. It's regularly deafening.
At over $1500 a month for a one bedroom, I'd say it's going to be a "huge chunk" of your income, unless you're making $250,000 a year -- and if that's the case, you're not living here.
It's true that the rooms are very spacious and there are plenty of closets in many rooms, but there are also many cockroaches, and the A/C is broken for a week at a time at least once a month.
********** FOLLOW UP RESPONSE to "Happyrenter": And we have plenty of nutzo tenants. And hun, I'm actually trying to improve this place -- not "screwing it up." When was the last time you called management about the A/C being down? I do every time, because no one else seems to make any effort. When was the last time you called the management about the elevators being broken? Have you voiced your concern about the ghetto condition of the elevators? I guess you just haven't been here long enough to see the slumlord-like treatment from Gelman Management -- it's legendary at all of the company's properties; even the CityPaper has covered it at length. It's sad, because with the location and the size of the rooms, this place could be really nice if the management actually gave a crap.

happy renter is probably management (they're known for posting good reviews online!)and sounds like just like something mike loiaza would say - "your not clean and you've asked for the rodent problem" or "your fellow tenants are not clean and we have no control over them attracting roaches" response that he's known for.
