Definitely not worth the rent

You definitely will not get your money's worth in this building. The building is run-down, roaches and mice are common, and there are serious ventilation issues. Building management will go to great lengths to provide the cheapest service, even if the objectives are not met.
Security is an issue. Theft does take place, and there are speculations that this is done by insiders.
Management is irresponsible, and dishonest.
My advice, stay away and get your money's worth elsewhere.

The outright lie is that entire thing. Does this person have any proof for saying management steals or that the building is infested? No, of course not, this verges on liable and slander punishable by law. Moreover, your stating that the A/C is down everyother week is clearly hyperbole at best or more likely stupidity, as you clearly can't count worth a ----. While the A/C has been turned off a few times while I have been here I have spoken to management and apparently they must do this every so often in a building of this age in order to replace convectors where thir useful life has been worn out. BTW, I'm not sure what kind of section 8 housing you have been too b/c I have never seen any section 8 housing with brand new electronic elevators or with the bad ass stainless steel push button system we have. I agree the elevators used to run like crap but now that they are new they are better than fine.

To Mikee: Where did the original reviewer "outright lie"?.... If you've been in Gelmarc Towers for 3 years now, and have not had any problems, you either have not spent much time in the building OR you have very low standards. Are you saying it's not a problem that the A/C is down every other week? Are you saying it's not a problem that the elevators are broken down once a month? Are you saying that the section-8-looking elevators should take over a year-and-a-half to fix? Either you are management posing as a tenant, or you're just one of the building's many loony renters who cannot be relied on to help improve things.
