The Hamilton House is a great place to live. I've been living here for the past 8 months and now I love it. True, this building had roach problems and when I first moved in I was disgusted to see bugs everywhere... They used to spray the apartment on demand to no avail; the bugs would start showing up in a week. This however is not the case anymore. The apartment made a contract with a new company 2 months ago and there is no roach problem anymore. I saw one or two little ones since May, which is no big problem for me. One other problem with the apartment is the windows. During the winter, when I sat on the floor, I would get very cold and keep the heat on at all times. The windows should be repaired to keep the warm air inside. This apartment can save a lot of energy just by doing that... Other than that, the apartment is spacious for a studio, located two blocks from Dupont circle. I have a balcony which I love! I have a wonderful view full of trees so I can walk around naked and don't even need curtains. The management is great! Whatever the problem is they are very very helpful! The residents are mostly young professionals like myself so it is a good environment to make friends also. The building has a small pool, which I've yet to use. I agree with the previous post though.. there is a change problem in the laudry room. I usually get change from CVS at Dupont but it would be very nice to have something downstairs. I will bring this upto the management and see if it's possible to put a change machine there.
