Outstanding Building!!!

I lived in the Hamilton House for the past four years and would have stayed there another four if I wasn't leaving the area. I had a great studio with a balcony on a high floor overlooking Rock Creek Park. There was plenty of closet space, a nice size bathroom, and a very functional kitchen. All of the appliances were new when I moved in. The walls had been freshly painted, the floors recarpeted, and the place was exceptionally clean. This, by the way, is not a unique experience. Every apartment is cleaned up between tenants. I had a parking spot in the building which was super convenient. The price for a spot in the building is no more expensive than any other garage in the area. I took full advantage of the gym and sauna in the building. It's not much but it certainly beats venturing out into the cold during the winter and is great if you only have a few minutes to work out. The staff at the HH is second to none. In the event that you do have a problem in your apartment, one of several very competent and friendly engineers will be take care of it, usually the same day. The halls and lobby are constantly being cleaned. I never had a bug problem but the building has exterminators that come in once a week if you do have one (free to the tenant). Also, getting internet, cable, phone lines is very easy. The building also has a 24 hour doorman which is great for receiving packages and feeling safe. The neighborhood is great but its always nice to know someone is keeping an eye on the building. The location of the building is perfect not only for its proximity to Dupont Circle and the redline but also for anyone who is affiliated with George Washington University as it is less than a 10 minute walk way. The best feature of the building, though, is its management. The two building managers could not be nicer. They are very accommodating and will listen and act on any problems that you may be having with your apartment. It's not the least expensive place to live in Dupont Circle but the peace of mind you get from living in such a great building is certainly worth a few extra dollars a month. I would very strongly recommend the Hamilton House to anyone looking for a place in DC. I am sad to leave it!!!
