I live in a one bedroom in Hillside and the prices are excellant (one bdrm $715 all utilities) and it's a decent sized place for one person. They have interesting floor layouts in some units and my view of the city from my bedroom is beautiful. However, I have numerous issues with maintenance. I understand that it's an older apartment and it's going to have it's issues. But I've had water damage in my bedroom ceiling for months and they have yet to fix it. They claim they have to call a contractor, but in my opinion, it's taken too long. Also my refridgerator had been leaking for awhile and while they would come look at it, I don't know if they were really fixing it because the problems would start up. Oh, and I do have roaches. I am a neat tenant, dont drop crumbs, vaccuum, sweep, don't keep dishes in the sink or standing water laying around and i STILL have roaches. They have been slacking because the last time I asked them to spray, they just put baits down. Ugghh!
Overall, I love my apartment, but I don't like the maintenance. if you get a space in the lot, you're okay, though it's not well lit at the far end. but if they fill up, you can forget it coming in past 6:00pm. 23rd street parking (the street that runs through the complex) fills up fast! If you're willing to deal with a few bugs and slow response time, then you will like it here because they do keep the landscaping up marvelously and though it's in the heart of the hood, it's tucked away on a very quiet street. no thugs hanging out, no loitering. nice trees in neighborhood and off the main roads. aLKeoXpj3s4OSgrp1trb

This review is very helpful, I'm not a tenant, however, a friend of mine is and my friend is having some what of an issue with the landlord-rude lady right now. I don't want to state what that issue is because she is probably reading these reviews. I'm in the process of going directly over her head to the management co itself for my friend to get this issue resolved. If rude lady could just be a little more nicer to here tenants it wouldn't be so bad. In the beginning I was very impressed with the way the property was kept up and even considered looking into moving there but because of what my friend is currently going through and the reviews tha i'm reading I'm staying clear of Hillside Terrace because I would have put out a pettion to have her ass fired. RIDICULOUS.
