Rent a room instead

Idaho Terrace is the budget place in upper Northwest for folks who want to live on their own -- no frills, older building, VERY small units. Quite frankly, I was ashamed to have people to my apartment -- not because it was dirty or (particularly) poorly maintained, but because it was about the size of a good walk-in closet.
I rented it in post-divorce wallow -- I had zero money, and needed to be able to walk to work in upper Northwest. In retrospect, though, I'd have been better off saving my money and renting a room. I'd advise others to do the same -- more a commentary on the D.C. rental market than on Idaho Terrace or its management, who probably do the best they can with the building they have.
