The Latrobe was a god send when I was looking for apts in the District.
The value is incredible for the neighborhood and the amenities.
Their is constant office presence or security presence 24 hours.
Response to maintenance issues have been resolved in 48 hrs or less.
The mgmt staff has worked hard to create a community atmosphere with social gatherings in the summer, contests in the fall, and communications as often as necessary to convey ongoing concerns in the building.
I was never told there was a swimming pool in the building nor is there any advertisement that says so.
However, mgmt did negotiate access to an area hotel pool which has been voted the best in the District.
The rooftop deck offers amazing views of the Washington Monument and the Cathedral and all the neighborhoods surround the Latrobe.
The convenience to Whole Foods Market is spectacular.
The building is conveniently located just about 4-5 blocks from two Metro stops, and shorter distances to CVS, Blockbuster, Starbucks, and many great bars and restaurants.
Don't be tricked by others comments -- it's quite a treat living at the Latrobe.

This person was writing in 2004. Note that the security guard is never around at night...often in backroom sleeping. Aside from location, this place is the biggest dump I have ever lived in, and the management were HORRIFIC!! Further, any social gatherings that may have existed a few years ago, no longer exist
