I have lived in a 1 BR apartment here for almost two years. I'll be honest, I generally enjoyed my most of my experience here, until the new management and renovations started. The place has had constant construction for about 6 months, and it has been far from efficient. I mean seriously....why would they put new carpet in the hallways BEFORE painting them. Why replace the room numbers in hallways AFTER painting (leaving ugly remnants of previous paint job)' Seems pretty backwards to me. There are always tons of workers in the building, making it impossible to catch an elevator without waiting 10 minutes.

The common areas do look nice, but not enough to justify the rent increase. My 1 bedroom is still carpeted, with a very outdated kitchen and bathroom. I think it's ludicrous that the management thinks they can raise my rent over 400 dollars just because we have a nice lobby. Perhaps they're trying to drive me out so they can renovate my unit, cause it worked.

Hmmm, they didn't even give me the option of staying in my unit... they just told me they were renovating it and that they'd move me to a unit one floor above (already renovated) for a 35% rent increase. I'm surprised you even got the option of staying.
