A very unhappy tenant

These are the facts of my experience at this building.

I've been paying about $1,600 month only to have experienced: construction crews roaming the halls, taking up elevator space, and working on renovation projects in my apartment when I'm not home; construction noise that was at times so loud, I couldnt stay home when I had a day off from work; construction dust in the air and all over the floor (and sometimes on my belongings) from when they were pulling up the old hallway carpet, sanding the hallway walls, sawing holes in my apartment walls, etc.; a leak in my ceiling due to roof issues that have not been properly repaired, making my apartment damp after a big rain; and the straw that broke the camel's back, an infestation of carpet beetles in my living room, requiring my entire apartment to be fumigated.

Before moving to the Latrobe, I had been fortunate enough to have never even HEARD of carpet beetles.

I hadnt even lived in a building with carpet for about a decade before the Latrobe, plus I havent had any rugs or furniture delivered since I've been living in this building.

Do you think all of the renovations and carpet-removals in the common areas and vacated units could have stirred these things up' No need to answer that.

By the way, there has never been any offer of compensation or reduced rent for the inconvenience of living in what has often been a construction zone.

The onsite staff seem to be decent, hard-working people, but dealing with the state of this building has obviously been way beyond them.

Oh, and I hear from my neighbors who've already gotten their renewal notices that they've been raising rents by hundreds of dollars once it's lease-renewal time.

I've paid way less money to be treated way better than this.

Cant wait to move.
