A big disappointment.

I've lived at the Latrobe for almost 2 years.
Initially I loved it (the location is pretty great), but over the past 6 months my experience has significantly declined.
The building is being renovated, so some inconveniences are to be expected, but The Latrobe and Aimco have really gone out of their way to make it a horrific experience for tenants (especially tenants who knew how great it was before the renovation started).
The roof deck has been closed all summer.
Unsupervised construction crews roam the sweltering hallways, crowd the elevators, are messy and don't speak english.
Communication with tenants about current renovations in their hallways has seemed to drop off (there is plastic all over my hallway and construction folks running around, but I have no idea what they're doing.) Management is ill-informed and unresponsive.
Don't bother leaving a message with the leasing office; you will just need to call back b/c they either don't check their voicemail or won't call you back.
Additionally, there is high turn-over with leasing office staff (and again, no communication about the changes), so it's hard to keep track of who's actually working there.
To top it all off, Aimco is raising rents by hundreds of dollars when folks are renewing their leases - to compensate the renovation, of course - even though they raised my rent by $200 last year before the renovation started.
It's pretty absurd.
Finally, don't trust the photos on the website - the only seemingly accurate ones are of the view from the roofdeck, but since it's been closed all summer, it's hard to say if those views are still accurate...
