DO NOT RENT HERE, or from AIMCO in general. ever. They are a REIT. What does that mean' They couldn't care less about their renters... and it shows.
Thank God I have a cat who terrified the mouse who ran into my apartment a couple of nights ago. I contacted the management, but have they responded' no.
Last week there was ANOTHER massive flood that ruined at least 3 of the apartments on my floor (not to mention on other floors I'm sure) and now the lobby smells like mildew and feces.
I cannot wait to move. They've violated the warranty of habitability clearly and consistently, which is grounds to break a lease without penalty. I am telling every person who tours the property not to live here, and all of my neighbors they have the right to break their lease.
And the promise of the roof deck and exercise facility is total BS. I've been waiting nearly a year.

I totally agree with you about AIMCO. AIMCO treats their tenants horribly. A REIT is a Real Estate Investment Trust, and because AIMCO is a REIT they care only about the profits they bring to their investors. I would like to have a private discussion with you so please send me an e-mail at pithosno@hotmail.com.

Wow, I'm on this site looking at New York apartments, and decided to plug in my old DC zip code. I cannot believe Latrobe is still this bad. I broke my lease in April of 05 because of the constant flooding and the mice. I was one of the first to report the mice to the city, and an inspector came to the grounds and cited them. I decided not to bring suit, once they told me I could leave, and I moved to NY and never looked back...until today. The building and management were terrible in 05, and obviously continue to be. I must say I was there for 8 years and the problems started in about 04. And the rents started getting exorbitant as well, so that's a bad combo. Also, right before I left, they started renovating some apartments and renting it to a company that would rent by the day, like the place was a hotel. One apartment was next door, and in any given week, I could find 4 different foreigners were staying there. It was unsafe, and unethical. You guys should all get together and sue them. They are corrupt. Good luck.
