I just moved in about a week ago, and while it hasn't been long I don't have any complaints. The staff has been exceedingly courteous, even when my roommate and I misread the lease and didn't realize one month's rent was due the day we moved in (we thought the amount due on execution was the security deposit due at signing, our fault) and payed a day or two late. The laundry room isn't great, but it's sufficient, and while the walls aren't thick it is a very quiet building. There are often sirens and the like from Wisconsin Ave, even with the windows closed, but it is not loud enough to wake us and, to be honest, we expected as much considering it's Wisconsin.

Overall, it's not bad. Affordable and in a good area. We have had difficulties closing doors due to the numerous layers of paint, and it seems as if the painters didn't try to avoid the doorknobs or tiles at all, but those things can be easily fixed. As a side note, the head of maintenance mentioned that he had never turned over an apartment so quickly. Whether or not that's true, we moved in exactly one week after the previous tenant moved out, and the apartment had new paint, new carpeting, parquet at the door that didn't previously exist, a new refrigerator, and a few other things.

Considering the area, the price, and the square footage, I'm happy.

Sidenotes:
Parking: I do not drive a car in DC, so I haven't judged parking.

Noise: Noise isn't a problem because it is a quiet building, not because the walls are thick. We can often hear plumbing, but for us that is not a problem.

Grounds: The evaluation of grounds is somewhat irrelevant. There isn't much to judge. The few patches of grass and flowers are nicely kept, but there isn't much. It is, however, directly across from the National Cathedral.

Safety: For me, it is a very safe area. The bus stops right across the street heading towards Friendship and at most 20 feet away heading towards Georgetown, so you do not have to walk far, but even when you walk this is a very safe area with many police cars patrolling.

Construction: For me, everything is fine. In all fairness, this is my first apartment, I am still in college and working full-time, but so far everything (heat, AC, stove, refridgerator, etc) works perfectly. I noticed the sink doesn't drain as well as it should, but some Draino should take care of that. We haven't tried yet, since it isn't too much of a problem.

Maintenance: I gave 5 Stars because they did fix up the apartment quickly to allow us to move in, and while it wasn't perfect, they took care of everything that needed to be taken care of and have been exceedingly polite and helpful.

Staff: The staff has been wonderful. I picked up on their frustration when my roommate and I misread the lease, but I don't blame them and they were still very polite yet straightforward. After signing the lease, they warned us about our neighbor that constantly complained about noise from the previous tennat (usually complained mid-afternoon although the tennat, who worked night-shifts, was sleeping) and, because they were obliged to, informed us that he had (again) complained about excessive noise from the TV (we don't own one), but were very sympathetic and made it clear that they knew he would complain no matter what and that if we had a problem we could always go to them. As a side-note, since they told him he had new neighbors when he last complained, we haven't heard anything.

Overall: I left Overall at 3 stars since I have nothing to compare it to besides college dorms and apartments occupied mostly by students.
