If you're not happy...MOVE!

I have seen the responses posted over the last two days and I'm outraged! It sounds like these particular people have banned together and are all friends. They all seem to say the same thing. I've lived here for almost 9 months and I haven't experienced all the negative that these people have. Are there problems, sure...but it's an apartment building. If you're really that unhappy why you don't you move to the apartment building in NW that you mentioned' You could have moved there in the first place...why didn't you' One of you mentioned the hood, yes, the building is in NE DC...but guess what...it's a NICE building...you should appreciate the controlled access instead of complaining about it. I've lived in a lot of apartments and can tell you that most buildings don't have anything close to this one when it comes to the access/security system. You knew when you moved in that this building had the access control, I know I did, that's one of the reasons I moved here. You mentioned packages---have you lived in an apartment before' My last building wouldn't even accept packages...they had to go to my door! Now, that was a bad situation. Stop complaining about something that's courtesy, you're going to mess it up for the rest of us! The gym---it's open from 6am-10pm...the office extended those hours two months ago...but you probably didn't pay attention to the memo they posted. You'd rather complain. If you're really that unhappy...move out! For those of us that respect the building we live in, we don't have a problem with the rules, security and policies. The people who complain and write negative emails, well...you're usually the one who's violating the rules in the first place! GOOD LUCK if you think you can move into a building without rules and policies. I'm sure you'll find that building but it won't be new and guess what...it will have problems too!

Personally this review sounds like you work for the company. I do agree that it does sound like they got together and petitioned to post negative comments but you are so defensive. I was unsure of the gym policies, procedure and hours and I am not really concerned about that because there are not too many apartment complexes that will give you a gym. As for the packages, I agree with you also when you say that it is indeed a favor because at any ofther apartment building it will be sitting at your door for someone to steal. So what's your take on the parking?--You must have a garage space because if not then that is a problem for a lot of us or do you have a car? As far as the access to the building you did know about that when you first moved there and we should be thankful for that because if the area. We don't have children running through the halls or bums sleeping, laying and begging in our hallways due to the security setting. Don't get me wrong Kim is a sweetheart and in my opinion she is not ready for that position. She may have needed to manage a smaller property. I posted the comment months ago and I still have the same feelings but I do see that she tries. I don't think that you are going to find a place with all of these ammenties for the price. That's for sure. I just can't believe that you are a resident with these comments. You must just pay your rent and that's it. Nothing else. No need of anything--huh? That's funny!

Yes this review sounds like the assistant property manager who lives in the building, not a regular tenant. Seems like those comments really pissed her off! But from reading her review you can see the I don't care attitude she displays at Lotus Square!

This is Definitely the assistant property manager. I heard she has two parking spaces. One for her brand new Range Rover. I also heard that she has the biggest 3 bedroom in the building. Her attitude is horrible. She gives her friends good parking spaces and section 8 apartments. And harrasses everyone that pays $1300 rent every month. I don't know why they think a ghetto person like her has the people skills to effectively and efficiently run a complex this big. I'm moving the hell out of here. Aside from the things first sold as amenities (while this place was still under construction), that they are now calling a courtesy, They are working on the highway. There is a big project on 295 and I don't appreciate paying alsmost $1300 a month to wake up to the sounds of bridge building and jackhammers at 7 in the morning. I feel sorry for the elderly and disabled people who live here. They have no allies in this building. Don't move here. Everything is cheap. If you have a small child there is no way to secure your front door. They could open the door easily. The cable lines are a mess. Comcast won't fix the lines because they say our building wouldn't let them run the lines. They say our management wanted to run and own all rights to the lines in the building, so it wasn't their problem. The biggest disappointment here by far is the property management. The one that lives here on the premisis needs to be fired. She doesn't even try to help tenants with any issues.

Why are you so mad?! I can guarentee you I did not band toghether with ANYONE in this building however I have experienced the problems. You have such a negative attitude?! And your only response is that people should move out! Oh just open your eyes and you'll see that people are! I know I tried to leave after my baby woke up in the middle of the night and walked out the apartment and one of my neighbors had to bring him back and the managment wanted to CHARGE ME $30 for a $6 lock but it was waaaaaay to expensive to get out! There's nothing wrong with people voicing their oppinion. Managment should learn to see the complaints for what they are...unhappy people...and aim to fix the problem. There's no review like word of mouth, rather its good or bad!
