Unfortunately I moved here almost 2 years ago now. Why am I still here #1 waiting for the school year to finish, and #2 Financial reasons, I could not just pick up and move b/c moving is expensive. When I moved here it "seemed" wonderful, nice, new, I was happy about moving to a unit where no one had ever lived. It was affordable at the time 2bedrooms 2bathrooms w/ utilities was only $1219 You couldn't beat that with a stick! At the time Ms. Kim was working here, I never experienced any problems with her at all. Everyone was actually nice. The first issue was the washer machine it would make a horrible loud noise, it took almost a month to get that and the dryer fixed. Then there were little minor things that would break, such as the toilet flusher would constantly break, the tub knobs have came off (which is still broken)...The biggest issues since I have been here is PARKING! I have been on this IMAGINARY list since I moved in! To this day NO GARAGE SPOT. To this day there is the horrible construction that goes on and you wake up to the noise the building shaking, a horrible gas smell, which I know is hazardous to our health. The construction has been going on since I moved in and it keeps getting worse. You have to pay extra $50 for cable even if you get a special package with comcast, so if you get the triple play and let's say it's $130 you have to pay an additional $50 to them b/c they have a contract with Comcast...bullish!!!! The elevators constantly broke you would get stuck, I even got stuck in one with a police officer who was about to freak out. You have to basically park far and worry about getting tickets b/c the police are constantly looking for reasons to put one on your car. They now have roaches, which I barely have any because my apartment is clean, but I see them in the hall, the walls have been written on, trash, people put out there cigarettes on the door which is turning black from the ashes. They have increased the rent now to $1376 this is the 2ND INCREASE via $1219. The fire alarm was constantly being pulled which rang extremely loud continuously. Suppose to have a business center-THAT'S A LIE!!! There is none. The gym closes early for people who get off work late, and I heard you can only excercise on each piece of equipment for only 30min's. Someone broke into my house (which I now have permission to break my lease) but that may even be a battle b/c they lie so much. There was an issue with the water, one week there was no water pressure for almost a whole week, many residents called complaining the receptionist told me that Mr. Chapman THE OWNER left a note stating that it was fine to leave the water that way for another day until Monday...I was outraged she said she was too but that she did send someone back out...We went almost a week without being able to shower with correct water pressure, the water was just a little stream out the faucet. Now I am pissed b/c they have just installed new thermostats...we cannot control our own heat or air, if you wanna turn the heat up or down it won't work b/c the owner has a lock on all thermostats, a special password is on the thermostat to set the tempature different temps during the day. So if you try it will only blow cold air!!!! The temp will only be 68 degrees during the day and 70 at night. I'm sure the summer time will be hell but I won't be here. I can understand wanting to save energy and money but I am outraged!!! I love to be warm...I am not home that much so I do try to save energy, I always tell my child not to leave lights on etc... but this has gone to far!!!! The maintenance man told me that I would have to use an extra blanket!! In my own house!!! So I have gotten heaters from friends b/c I am not buying sh** extra for this fckn place and I am counting down the days to my departure from this hell hole!!!! This place could be nice if it was ran by nice people. People bang on the walls which knocks down the pictures off my wall!!! The door is being banged all night people running in and out so you can barely sleep...I can only share my experience someone else may not have the same but I do not advise anyone to move here unless they ensure they have a garage spot and they take time to actually check this place out for themselves. If you love roaches, not getting your maintenance requests handled in a timely fashion, loud arguments, sexing real loud in the middle of the night that it wakes your children, banging & slamming doors & people banging on the door, trash & stinky hallways, rude management, liars and high rent with no control of your heat or air and no guranteed parking, fire alarms blaring all hours when there is no fire and a rude nasty owner who could care less if his tenants have water then this is the place for you.

Wow you sound like my old down stairs nieghbor!!! You where apart of that flood to. I am glad I am not there. People please take head. This aparment is managed by Winn Residential, so is Overland Gardens and a few others. The properties are nice. If you must move in these please do a full walk through before you sign and pick what you want. Do a night and day drive by of the nieghborhoods so you know what you are getting into!!!!

If the thermostat is set to 68, I think that is illegal. Contact the department of regulatory affairs. Im pretty sure it is illegal for an owner to restrict a thermostat. it can be restricted to 70 degrees but not any lower

Like she said those are the issues she's having. I'm with her on the thermostat though, allthough I found a way to control it myself...smile. As far as some of the other issues, no matter what apartment complex you move to there are going to be issues, some worst than others. Take a look at some of the more luxury apartment ratings on this site you'll see. Until you can afford to own a home, you'll be moving from one problem to another! I never lived in a apartment that didn't have issues! As far as roaches people bring them when they move in, I don't have them and you said you don't. Everyone don't keep there place clean, if your place is clean and there's no food laying around... no roaches! As far as the noise from the door, your apt is atached to the same wall at the courtyard entrance, you just got the wrong apt. All new bldgs use very the sheet rock these days, so if you have noisy neighbors you will here them... move to a much older bldg and yo may not. The gym closes early now because kids and teenagers weredoing things they had no business doing in that area. The only solution would be to have someone monitor it until closing.

I agree with everything that you say and more! I have had the same exact problems and I know exactly what you are talking about from the parking to the washing machine and maintaince. How is 1 maintaince man on the property acceptable for a semi high rise building. I know properties with far less units that have more than one maintaince person.
