A Perspective of the "Plaza"

I am not a resident of the "plaza" but I have relatives that have been living there since 2002. I must say that from then, the place has gone DOWNNN horribly. When my relatives first moved it, everything seemed so nice. Some would speculate that after "section 8" residents were allowed to move in, is where the downfall began. For those unfamiliar with DC, section 8 basically makes normally expensive apartments affordable to low income residents. I have witnessed first hand the transformation of the plaza from a very nice liveable place to its now down troden state. I dont blame the city or the group of young men who hang out here, probably because they dont have any where else to go, or no parental influence, nor do I blame the tenants that have been trying to make a change in their community. If there is someone to blame, I blame the management(s) of the plaza for letting this complex fall to its current state. I do not recommend that anyone else move into this shack of a place. Although this complex is in the heart of SE DC, that doesn't mean that the people living there should be treated in this manner. Everyone deserved equal fair treatment.
