I moved in January and although it's only been a couple of months I must say I enjoy living here. I will admit that there are some issues depending on the type of person you are like weed smoke you may smell on occassion from passing in the halls and the parking is a mess. I would strongly suggest you get a parking pass for the garage with is 150 a month. My wife and I live here and I do have to walk here down to the garage in the morning just as safety precaution but when she did walk alone there were no problems it just makes her feel better. The apartments are huge and very modern and contrary to other reviews there are no infestation problems and are very clean. I see a lot of people saying that there are suspcious characters here but keep in mind most people judge folks based on what they see and not what they know and everyone I have encountered have been very pleasant even if they appear to be what most people consider thugs. Overall I am very pleased with my choice to move here. Keep in mind this is Southeast so if your looking for perfection go to Montgomery County or somewhere like that.

It's not the looking like a thug. It is thug. 150 a month in SE for a parking spot? Sounds like someone is scrimping on the rent and paying for it with a parking spot in the waterfall garage.
A tenant in the building warned me about her experience in a hall with neighbors around - she was attacked. Another told me about how people died due to a gas explosion and POOR management a couple years back. If you are into that, this place may be for you.
I can think of 5 apartment buildings in S E I'd sooner live in.

How so very naive of you and stereotypical about the area and Montgomery Co. A tenant moved in around the same time as you and had written to Beacon Management Corporate office because of the conditions -- she was allowed to cancel her lease and has moved out!!! Have you not seen the waterfalls in the parking garage? Whenever it rains it rains there also. There is one saving grace, the convenience store on Level B-1.
Units are advertised with hardwood floors. But, the lease says a certain percentage of the walking area should be covered so as not to disturb the tenant below you. HA! That's a joke! Let me stop here because I could go on and on... One last issue: since 2001 there has been at least 10 property managers (go figure).

Why do you all still live there? Did you not get your monthly check or do you just like complaining all the time. No one has a gun to your head to live there. You chose to live there. Just because you haven't had a pleasant experience doesn't mean someone else can't. You people need to get a grip. Or are you one of those residents that think the City will make them do right. Not!!! If Fenty shuts Marbury down, you gotta go, and then who are you gonna write about? Yourself, because you are the one complaining and staying there and not doing anything about it. Use your brain folks!!!!!!!!!
