I thought I was paying 2k / mo for my 1br for a reason when I moved there. I agree w/ other posters, this place is on its way down. The service elevator being broken is driving me crazy on a daily basis -- haven't even seen that they are trying to fix it after 3 MO. Because of this, they have padded the other elevators so they can be used for moving. It's ugly for me to use, not to mention, embarrassing when you bring in a guest and it looks like you are bringing them to your place in a freight elevator. That's after waiting several minutes for it to come since someone is always moving (probably out) in another one.
And, the front of the building. Please, its been 6 months of scaffolding and NO work being done. The party room is nice, but, who wants to pay $200 to have a gathering for a couple of hours -- no one uses it; its a waste. We pay enough -- rent it out free.
Read the lease and fine print -- my favorite part, ' Mass Court doesn't abide by DC Land Lord Tenant Law' How can they even try to get away with that!
The residents they are selecting lately are completely different from the professional crowd once occupying this building.
The gym is great and the business center is nice although net nanny doesn't even let you access some email accounts. It has always been clean around here.. but, I've started seeing some roaches in the stairwell lately - which scares me about more to come.
Yes, nice place at first glance, but, be warned.

I'm an attorney and an advocate for D.C. tenant's rights...and you're absolutely right...they can't get away with inserting that disclaimer on their lease. If you'd like, I'll take a look at it. You may e-mail me a copy at clickyourheels_3x@yahoo.com (you can redact your personal information, or just send me the portion of the lease that states that non-compliant text). I would be happy to compel Mass Court's compliance with applicable D.C. code.

I am sure Mass Court had their attorneys' reviewing the lease. DC tenant law is very different than for example the tenant law in Virginia. Worth to take a look at.

Oh, shut the hell UP, you stupid leasing agent!!! Mass Court is run by incompetent idiots aka YOU and you are potentially in deep caca with D.C. code. What don't you understand about that? Probably everything -- after all -- you're only an uneducated leasing agent.
