Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006
I have to agree with the previous reviewer. I'm a current resident at Mass Court and I have really enjoyed living here for the last two years. My rent has gone up like the previous person, but I still think it's worth it. A apartment building like Mass Court is definitely an upgrade for me. I use to live in a older building prior to Mass Court. Although I didn't have any issues with the management of my previous apartment, I moved to Mass Court for many of the same conveniences that the previous reviewer had mentioned. I like the fact that I can control my heating and air conditioning. I had radiator heat in my last place and I would open the window to control the temperature in my apartment. That was pretty ghetto. Mass Court is definitely not ghetto although city living might be a bit of shock for some of the lily white people who live here. I guess that's one down side about Mass Court and the Penn Quarter area in general. It's becoming a bit homogenous/gentrified like most of Northwest DC. It would be nice if the area had a little more diversity. Chinatown doesn't even look like Chinatown these days with all of the commercial development. But, the "standard" has improved because of the development. I guess one of the other issues I have with living at Mass Court is that some of the dog owners are plain lazy allowing their pets to pee on the sidewalk just outside of the building. If I were the management, I wouldn't allow pets at all. That's my two cents.
