Years at this apartment: 1993 - 2005
I lived in the Mass House for quite a few years, but only stayed as long as I did because the rent was controlled, and moving an expensive proposition.
The cockroach infestation was beyond unbelievable. Every few months, I used gas insecticides, twice the recommended number, in order to maintain control.
The plumbing is ancient, so sinks and tubs stop up frequently. The ceiling in my bathroom collapsed because of a leakage from the apartment above.
I asked, for years, to have my apartment repainted, and it was only after complaining to the owners of the building -- and showing photographic evidence -- that it was finally done.
The light switch over my bathroom vanity quit working, and it took seven years to get it replaced.
My oven quit working and stayed that way until I moved out ten years later -- despite requesting that it be repaired numerous times.
Although the present rental manager is a caring and cooperative lady, the folks who work at the front desk like nothing better than gossiping about the residents -- often to other residents! qmzu4EHcaGAPVCPw2Fai
