I've lived in this building since first moving to DC. I've just moved to my third apartment in this building. I've moved for space, and in each case, i've been thrilled with my accommodations. It's easily the best deal for the money, and more.
The windows are big, my apartments have all been carpeted, i've got a garage spot for far less than the other garages around. What else have i gotten for my money' prompt repairs and service when bulbs are out or if a/c is leaking; security who knows my name and are very kind and good at their jobs; and a responsive and polite management staff.
Problems' sure, i've seen bugs, but they leave fast from a clean apartment and extermination (handled by the management office quickly). the elevators break down a little too frequently, meaning a longer wait time for the working ones. And of course, yes, there is a fire house caddie-corner from the buidling. but these are really minor complaints.
Also, there's a pool on the roof (which is sadly only open for the summer) and a workout room. that's convinient. The Tenants association is also very much an asset, and worth joining or at least attending meetings.
