Overpriced & Bad Service

Was one of the first residents to move in the end of 2004. Construction was still going on, which I was fully aware of. Even though I moved in knowing construction was going on, building management made absolutely no attempts to try and make the few residents that were there feel comfortable during the less this desirable period (pounding at 7am, construction crews knocking on your door at 730am thinking the apartment is vacant, DUST).
Decided to renew my lease when it was up the first year (mainly because I did not have time to move). Of course they jacked my rent up. Yet, the services are getting worse. The building is supposed to have 24 hour concierege and a doorman. I have gone through the lobby a number of times late in the evening and NO ONE was in the lobby. I have NEVER had the doorman open the door for me, assist me with packages, etc. You know, HIS JOB! Yet that was one of the points that they pushed when I originally came the the building "We are the only building in DC with a doorman and concierge." That means absolutey NOTHING.
Now on to service. EVERYTIME (literally) I have a service issue I contact the leasing office. I then needed to follow-up 3weeks, sometimes a month or more, later because the issue was NEVER addressed or taken care of.
I live in one of the smaller units in the building (which still is NOT cheap). You are definitely treated different if you live in a less expensive unit as compared to one of the more expensive larger units on the upper floors. I have seen this with my own eyes.
I can't wait until my lease is up. This has been a disappointment to say the least. The rental market in DC is sky high which means you need to make sure you are getting the biggest bang for your buck......Meridian is a big thud!

"You are definitely treated different if you live in a less expensive unit as compared to one of the more expensive larger units on the upper floor." This is absolutely true. |

Princessxemina, can you explain to me how the negative reviews would have run you off when you stated in another review that you had been here for ten months and at ten months proir to you review there was only one negative review and four positive reviews. Is there something wrong here or are you just back dating your memory. Just makes me believe you really don't have a clue about what you are talking about and trying to make reader's like me think this is a better place to live than it really is. Are you just trying write you reviews to fit the need. I'm Glad I took the time to read all the reviews and responces and I took note of when they were written. I won't be renting here. Now go change your other review so it fits your needs and no one will know that you have lived here for ten months, a long time before most of the reviews were posted.

you must be the resident manage or one of the complex employees Princessxemina.....sometimes the truth hurts and it seems you have nothing but glowing reviews....anything to rent a less than average building to anyone who can see through your plastic finish....you know the ones just like this building. Nothing real and nothing to brag about.

We first considered this place sometime in early spring 2004 and had decided to move here...then in July-Aug. that year before moving in Sep. I saw all the reviews and had a panic attack that maybe we were making a huge mistake. But after emailing actual residents here and walking around the neighborhood in the day and evening, we decided to go for it. New-to-renting, unhappyrenter666.666, carolynmoose--I've offered my email address to you several times to prove that I'm not a rental agent for the bldg but you all would rather continue to hurl insults than talk to someone who posts something good, because that might possibly cause you to have to readjust your views and consider that perhaps your experiences are just that--YOUR experiences. Apparently it would be unpleasant for you to accept that perhaps there is some small chance that others have had a positivite experience living in this building.
