Questionable management

My wife and I were planning on moving in to Meridian when the following happened. Three weeks after we sent in our application (from California), we recieved a call saying the apartment that we were qualified for would not be available (the woman who lived there had some unfortunate circumstanes and could not leave...but not my problem). We had already scheduled our flights and moving company around this particular apartment and move-in date. We were given the option, however, to rent a different apartment, but at a higher cost to us. This didn't work out very well for us, so we told them we would insist on moving in to the apartment that was promised us. They said they would see what they could do. Two days later we get a phone call saying we are suddenly not qualified for the apartment, and we can't move in. Their reasoning for not telling us until three weeks later was that the manager had just reviewed our application. How convenient. Now we are left to scramble to find a place that works with our flight and moving company, or else pay the charges to change the dates. The frustrating part is there is no way to hold them accountable for their actions. If you are planning on moving here, be ready for management to impose the most difficult of circumstances upon you to make it work, and if it may be "work" for them, they may just disqualify you.
