When I first moved to Mt. Vernon Plaza it was an alright deal for the money. I needed a transition apartment for the first part of my tenure in DC. After putting it all together, I began to realize that this space was really confined and over priced. Next to the building are enormous and gaudy condominiums that are suited for the best of the yuppies to move into DC. If you're living at Mt. Vernon, you sure as heck can't afford the places adjacent to the building. The market moves in mysterious ways. FY 2006 price for a 2 bedroom (one kinda large master bedroom and the other, a hole that can't really fit a queen size bed)= 1,680 utilities. Listen you can find great apartments in this city with ample space for better prices than Mt. Vernon. Don't even get me started on the R-O-A-C-H problem. Yes, they spray, but does that do anything' Not yet in my apartment and I'm a clean freak! This is my honest opinion. I have nothing against the management, but I'm just a little disappointed. I would not recommend this place. We're the fifth apartment tenants that I know who are moving from the place. Oh, they're available, absolutment!
