I was originally impressed by the price and by the fact that utilities were included. Also the leasing manager I worked with was great and pushed my application through faster when she found out I literally wouldn't have a place to stay in the next couple of days.

After moving in, I was immediately disappointed by a slow (and often flirtatious) maintenance staff that had to come out several times to fix simple issues. The people in the office were also very short, rude, and unresponsive.

One disturbing situation involved a lockout situation. When I was there, the building was advertised as having 24-hour maintenance and lock out service. I returned home from a trip where my house sitter locked my keys inside and I called the "maintenance" number ALL night and never got an answer. I ended up having to stay in a hotel. It turns out that nobody checks the line and the backup number (given to me by the maintenance man) was actually the maintenance man's personal cell and he no longer worked for the building. The next afternoon (after my night in a shady Motel 6 and having to leave work early so I could catch the leasing agent during business hours) I went to pick up my keys and the office manager says, "And who are you' I don't know you. Oh, I guess you pay your rent on time." WTF It wasn't funny to me.

The craftsmanship and quality of carpet and other materials were overall cheap and shabby. Also, I too had to wait a long time for cable to be installed as well as for the Internet to be up and running. I once had a problem with roaches but only because my neighbors were filthy and they were soon evicted as a result.

My last interaction with the rental company was when I called about my deposit. It had been over a month since the end of my lease and the woman had the audacity to raise her voice at my question.
