Me and my roommate have been living here for about nine months now, and we just think it 's an awesome place to be. Everything seems to be brand new. The walls and appliances and everything work and look great. There is a slight problem with our stove not turning on all the time, but other than that, no complaints. The maintenence is very impressive, to say the least. Whenever there has been even the slightest problem (Our handle for the shower fell off, drain taking a long time, the light out in the bathroom, etc.) It's been fixed immeadiately, within hours. The staff is awesome. They are understanding, friendly and reasonable about pretty much any situation, I've found. As far as security, we are two single females, and her and I just don't feel that threatened. I've been walking around in the dead of night and just felt like it was normal city happenings. Sure, it's a little sketch in some areas, but it is definitely not dangerous, and the security system is pretty tight here. Unlike every other building I've lived in in this city, I have never, not once, seen ANY bugs here. It's crazy to hear that one person has them. I've just never seen even one. It can get noisy on the one side of the building, but it's just 16th street. It's a major though-fare. There is just going to be sirens and traffic now and then, so we accept it. We barely hear our neighbors. The walls seem really thick or something. There is never any noise from the inside. Adam's Morgan, Metro Station, huge Target and grocery store are all just a couple of blocks away too, which is pretty damn convenient. I would say the only downsides are that there is no central heating and it's a bit pricey. The heat comes out of a little unit on the wall, so it has to keep running at night during the winter, which jacked up our bills a tad. And the price is just not that affordable for any long term commitments. We can only afford to live in a studio together for one year, and they are definitely built for one person. All in all, I've had a great time living here, and I'm so glad I've made this place my home. Have to move out in June when I graduate college, and it's getting hard to even give it up. I highly recommend the Park Monroe for some great DC living.
