Everything in DC in expensive and with the Target and Bed Bath Beyond going up two blocks away, I'm sure rent will go up here too, but I think it's still a good deal, especially if you don't own a car. Parking spaces were very expensive and there was a waitlist. And I'm not sure I'd leave a nice car on the surrounding streets. But since I didn't have that worry, I had a great experience here. Metro and two major bus lines very close. The whole building, including laundry room is very clean. Office staff are great. There are overnight security people which is nice if you're coming home late and someone without a card trys to follow you into the building. Neighborhood is slowly being gentrified, but still has a good vibe. I used to walk from metro home after midnight and never felt unsafe. 16th is a busy enough street that there are always people around. On the flip side of that, lots of street noise if you have your window open, sirens, buses, etc. I did have bugs. A few tiny ones in my bathroom and one GIANT one in my kitchen that they called a "water bug" but I think it was a cockroach. It's the city people, every building has bugs. Overall, definately recommend.
