Promenade Apartments

Best deal in Adams Morgan From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 3/11/2005 Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004   The year I spent here from 2003-2004 was one of the best years of my life due to the people I got to know in the Promenade. They are middle aged but total party animals. Sure, you can ignore all your neighbors the time you live here, but it would be your loss. I was very happy with the maintenance staff, very friendly and very prompt--always. The old "grandmotherly" manager as one poster called her is now gone, replaced with a manager the older residents knew from a few years back and loved. The pool is great, but the parking is a total pain in the ass. The one thing I didn't like is they actually rented out spaces in our garage to rich jerks who didn't live in the building. Luckily they are very firm about access to the pool; you won't find some homeless man lounging in an innertube some afternoon when you go to swim. The cockroaches, yes the cockroaches. I never had a problem with them; I really suspect that some of the people who insisted they were clean were not and brought it on themselves. I had a few roach "scouts" every three months or so, but never the infestations other people claimed.
