If you want to get into a fun, convenient neighborhood, this will probably be your cheapest rent. But be warned, maintenance is slow and shoddy, and the workers sometimes create new problems for you to deal with. And watch out for roaches -- I've seen one every few months since I moved in. You can always find parking within a couple blocks, so no need to pay.
Not the worst place I've ever lived, but I plan to move out soon.
