I recently moved out of the Savoy and cannot say enough about the attentive and caring staff, especially the building's manager Patti.

Additionally, I lived in a penthouse studio on the 10th floor with an expansive balcony. The interior space was generous, and the balcony added an additional amenity rarely found in the District. The unit also has large closet space and granite bathroom counter tops, which is rare for an older building. The rooftop pool is also another selling feature!

Although I only had one occurrence, I can say that the maintenance department is phenomenal. The on-site maintenance team fixed my garbage disposal the first time and did it right! While I was at work, they fixed the problem without disrupting my belongings and there has been no problem since.

Given it's location, expansive interior/exterior space, and amenities, I couldn't have been happier with the Savoy. I only moved out because I am leaving the city and recommend the building and Gelman Management Co. to anyone looking for well-maintained, friendly-staffed buildings in DC.

Im not sure who wrote this, but Im going to guess it was someone who works for Gelman Management. The Savoy is awful. I moved out recently too. First off, only one elevator worked, surprise surprise, so that cost a delay, not to mention the movers charge per hour. The response from Gelman, was basically I dont care. Im sorry. The Savoy is terrible, the water is hot and cold without your control, the laundry room is always a mess, the elevators rarely work, when the pool is open, there may or may not be a life guard sleeping, the place smells, the paint chips, water leaks, i mean i can go on. Please please please dont live here, you will hate it!!!!!

I agree with ApartmentRater85 - And BTW they just finished putting in new elevators!

I definitely DO NOT work for Gelman. I agree that the elevators are an issue, and they did slow my move down. They need to fix them ASAP. Otherwise, I do think that everyone on-site is really nice. When living in an older building, one needs to realize that nothing is brand new. Given the fact that the building is 45 years old, I think they do a nice job maintaining the facility. My apartment??s water pressure was great, and there was no paint chipping. I NEVER found the laundry room to be a mess, and the little European lifeguard who barely speaks is hot.
