Its Ok!

I have lived at Stanton Glenn for almost a year now, and it s been an ok experience. It is my first apartment alone, and I am hardly there, I jokingly say I just use it as a storage unit and to sleep and take showers. It gets a bit noisy, but that doesn't bother me much. The building could be kept cleaner, the rug by the front door smells and looks old or the smell is just coming from the dirty mop and /or water they use to clean the floors in the morning. I think someone tried to get into my apartment via the kitchen window a few months ago, because I came home from a trip and the screen in the window was bent up like someone tried to removed it, I ignored it until my friend mentioned it and I called maintenance, their friendly, polite and get the job done in a timely manner. I probably had to call then 5 times since I moved in. I don't deal with the people in the rental or leasing office much, because I use the rent drop and by the time I get off their closed, but from the few experiences with them I have had they seemed nice and friendly. I have been told by friends who live in the area and have visited the property on different occasions that I pay too much to live there, and the crazy thing is I just received a notice that the rent will be increasing to a little over a thousand dollars starting in August. I'm ashamed to tell people, because even though I haven't had any major problems, the place is JUST OK and Not Worth It! So, I m looking to move from Stanton Glenn, I hate moving and would probably be ok if the rent was less or even stayed the same. But to deal with an alarm system (in the apartment) that never worked, a building front door lock that is always broken (even the cops was surprised that it was locked as in you needed a key to get in the building, little over a month ago when they were called to the building because the alarm was pulled), but now it s broken again, and has been that way for some weeks now. I don t necessarily feel unsafe, even though they are some shifty people that lives or hangout there. Bottom line, if you can fine something better you might want to pass up Stanton Glenn, and regardless of what they say IT IS NOT LUXURY...far from it even!
