Some good, some bad

**Get in writing what the condition of the apartment should look like when you move into it. I got a fridge that hadn't been cleaned in 4 yrs, a bathroom sink with a hole in it, dirt on walls and carpets, blinds that didn't close. Yes, they fixed it up, but it was an upsetting 1st week.

**Get Renter's Insurance that will cover Water Damage and Fire issues.

Cons:
-many tenants have had issues with the condo developers surrounding us. It's not the management's problem, so you have to deal with the noise, inconveniences, etc.
-for 6 months, we had many problems with the elevators, so people had to take stairs
-for 1 month, we had a problem with the water. Hot water was coming out of the cold water faucet
-they require you purchase Renter's Insurance, so that they don't have to reimburse you if they damage your stuff
-the managers are not well-versed in apt issues, so don't know mold when it's there
-a few people have had water damage in their apartments
-many people have problems with roaches and other insects
-Security is almost 24 hrs a day.
-the fire alarms have gone off almost 6 times in 6 months. 5 have been real fires, mainly at 3am. It's not management's fault, but keep it in mind.
-they will not give a reduction in rent, even when other apartment managers might do so. For instance, I had 3 water damage/mold issues in 3 weeks in my living room, closet and bedroom and they didn't care how inconvenienced I was and they didn't relocate me to another apartment.
-the management has high turnover. It seems every 6 months, there's someone new.

Pros:
-you can get an extra set of keys for guests
-they do try to fix things asap, but have difficulty if it's not as simple as 'replace the light bulb'. Issues like water damage, mold, making a new apartment in livable condition take more time and effort.
-location. it's walking distance to all 5 metro lines
-safe to walk around at night
-electricity, water, gas, AC, heat are included
-they'll let you paint your apartment. get written permission
-management accept packages on your behalf
-other tenants are nice, friendly and quiet Qlkxv6lfLuuXn3BrtpO7
