Nice Place, but Renters Treated Unequally

I don't have many complaints after living here about 3 years.

It can be noisy because the windows are very thin and still dirty from the recent brick repointing project (don't ask me why they didn't just clean them at the project's conclusion).

The front desk attendants are nice, but the maintenance staff is below average.

Side-to-side walls are pretty thin, but the floors & ceilings are solid.

I've never heard my upstairs neighbors or those below.

The roofdeck view is nice, when you can get up there.

The washers & dryers are very tough to use at certain times of the day and week - there's too few for the number of folks in the building & it's $1.25 a load.

There are also some questionable types living in the building as of late - don't know what that's about.

I love how people think "questionable types" are moving into one of the most expensive buildings in one of the most expensive neighborhoods of DC.

Well, to respond to Mr. Anonymous, I can try to elaborate on the OP's review. I can't for certain say that they were "living" there. During my last few months of living there in 2009, I had regular elevator rides with a number of the same tweakers that you'll notice from seeing them strung out in the Circle and/or passed out on any of the benches in the neighborhood - if you've lived or gone out in Dupont for any amount of time. Again, I don't know what it's about, but it did make me & my wife uncomfortable, especially when it was obvious they were less than sober.

To me, "questionable types" means obnoxious students (we all know there of plenty of THEM in DC lol) - additionally, if the individual owners rent to Section 8s; well. There ya go. :)
