A great place to call home

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2002
First and foremost, let me say that in my albeit limited time at the Chastleton (six months), I have never seen a rat. I was recommended by a friend who lived there for two years and made no mention of rats.
Reading the previous reviews, I never would have lived here which would have been unfortunate as I am quite happy with my apartment. In my opinion the pros are:
1) Location, location, location
2) Friendly staff (Jean in leasing; Brenda in Resident Relations, Michael, the manager; the security guards: Neil, Sharon, Tonya and the others; and most definitely Mary who runs the laundry and delivers packages)
3) Reasonable rent for the area
4) Quick response to maintenance requests
5) Renovations of the elevators
6) Nice courtyard
7) Ballroom for social functions
8) Great architecture
9) Clean apartment on arrival
10) Parking spaces (although these are high in demand)
The cons are:
1) Still work to be done on the elevators
2) Old carpets in the hallway
Overall, it is a great place to live and I am really surprised to not have heard any of the complaints of other residents or been invited to a meeting to discuss these issues. If others really are experiencing those problems, I am unaware of any effort to discuss them with a larger population of residents.
