Pros: Very nice kitchens, wood floors, clean art-deco building - has character. Quiet tree-lined street, not too far from metro. I haven't heard one deceble of noise from outside or neighbors (my apt doesnt face the street though). I got 1 month free rent from promotion. Also includes all utils. Front desk/management people have been helpful and nice and know me by name. My dishwasher broke, and a maint. guy came literally an hour after I reported the problem and installed a new one.
Cons: $1500 for 1 bed (cheapest they offer). It is an old building, I've had a minor ant problem which is slowly being resolved. Again, because its an old building, it has window unit ACs, which is kind of annoying since in the summer they are constantly running (but don't have to worry about elect. bills since all utls incl.) Another big con: no washer/dryer in the units. Have to use basement coin-operated machines. Also annoying, but managable. The gym is kind of small, but I havent had time to use it yet. Has a nice roofdeck, but building has no pool (like some newer, bigger buildings.) Also, doesn't have any balconies. One other con: very little closet space. My apt has so little that they include a wood armoire in the bedroom to make up for it. My particular apt also doesn't have a great view, looking in the back U of the building.
Overall: I decided to trade living in a soulless newer building with more amenities and space for an older building with character, nice kitchen, bath, and location.
