About two months ago considered moving into the Heights but after reviewing the comments posted here on this web site I decided not to even go see the units.
A week later a ran into a friend that I had not seen in years. She had just moved into the Heights late last summer and she loves her apartment. I was suprised to hear this after recalling the negative reviews. She admited that there was a shooting incident in the complex but it had nothing to do with anyone who lived there. She even told me how she had a few maintenance issues when she moved in but they were addressed. She said that they changed managment and has seen a lot of improvements with the new staff. (This made me stop questioning the validity of the positive reveiw on the new manager. I thought he might have posted it himself)
In summary, I missed out on a renovated 2 bedroom 2 bath unit for $1150.00 to move to a smaller unit without a washer and dryer for $1200.00. I wish I had just taken the time to go see the property for my self and ask some of the residents how they like living there.
Like most others that are giving these reviews I logged on this website to post my complaints about my current landlord. My review wont be as harsh but it will be fair. So don't just read the reviews go see the apartments for yourself. If I had done that I might not be where I am now, stuck in a small apartment with no aminities.

It's amazing to me that you would dismiss a shooting just because it didn't involve anybody in the complex. It was still a shooting. You or someone you loved could have been outside when it happened. I've grown up in DC my whole life and despite what people think about DC, shootings aren't NORMAL.

I overlook the broken "security" door, the ghetto security guards that i've never heard say "YES", instead I alway get a "yeeeeah", i overlook the trash dumpsters being VERY full, and i over look the BAD MANNERS of the staff... I do all this because I MUST. My two roomates and I split a one bedroom and go to Catholic. If you actually wish you lived at the Heights rather than at your current place, you MUST live in a H*LL Hole. I try to keep to myself, but living here is at best done daily by surviving. If you really think that the Heights is a good place to live... i just chuckle at your post!!
