Great neighborhood and affordable

I still live there and I dont want to move. The neighborhood is AMAZING: 3 restaurants including a 24-hour diner and incredible Mexican place, several dry cleaners, banks, hair salons, the Avalon movie theatre, a Safeway, a gas station, and classy wine/liquor stores. And... the Chevy Chase lounge, in case you want to whet your whistle. This is all within 2 blocks of the apartment.

Management has always been very friendly, and the door people are exceptional. I never feel unsafe, and the parking lot is very well lit.

There are a few problems, however, but I think they keep the place affordable. If you live on the side where your windows look down on the parking lot, you face an echoing area where you can hear everything going on outside, including couples fighting and the delightfully timed 7:30 AM garbage pickup- every day. Also, noise complaints are frequent within the building, as you can hear the floors easily and through the walls. The vents are hard to control at times and I would highly recommend an air purifier; I think the vents spew out dust and grime and things that get caught in your nose. Speaking of, the place gets dusty very easily. Also, even if you share a bedroom with someone and both of your names are on the lease, you only get one building key. In order to get another, you have to hand over $100 deposit or get used to sharing one key.

Metro is a brisk 10 minute walk to Friendship Heights, but since youre on Connecticut the bus will always take you downtown wherever you really need to go.

The building doesnt offer a pool, fitness center, or anything fancy, but they keep up what they offer very well.

Plus, when they say their elevators are swift, they mean it. They will ruin you for every other elevator.

I highly recommend this building, especially for the price (try to catch them during their deal months).
