I lived at the Kenmore for a little over 1 year. I have to say overall, it was a pleasant experience. I would've stayed, but I got a dog, and moved to a place with more grass.
Though some of the reviews posted earlier may be true (i.e., the smells, noise, etc.), I was impressed with the Kenmore staff and their willingness to bend over backwards to repair/remedy things.
I lucked out and I didn't face the parking lot (so I didn't have the 6am wake up calls from the garbage trucks), but I recommend NOT living on the basement level, b/c there tend to be more bugs and the smells dont dissipate down there.
Parking sucked a little, but they are cheaper than other DC apartments. Also, you can parallel park on the residential streets, and at most, I had to park 2 blocks away.
The best part was the 24-hour desk attendant and the newly hired security guard. Although I never required security, it was a nice feeling to know s/he was there. It was also nice having the freedom to pick up packages at 10pm (probably insigicant to others).
Otherwise, for the price and location, it's a very decent place to live (not to mention I didnt have to pay any move in fees or amenities fees).
