I am a university student and have lived at the Kenmore for about six months now, with my boyfriend who is a grad student. In those six months, I have only seen bugs of any kind on two occasions, both of which were in the laundry room. I originally moved into an apartment on the terrace floor and then switched to a first floor apartment after a few weeks and in neither of those apartments have there ever been roaches or any kind of insects/bugs/whatever. And yes, there are a lot of minorities here but uh, this is DC. I think that is to be expected. Personally I like it. There are also a lot of older white people here but you don't see people ranting about them.
Anyway we have never had a maintenance problem or a problem with our heating or AC. The only thing is that yes, the kitchens are TINY, but we were really creative and maximized the space and really its not bad. The apartments themselves are quite spacious and generally a very good deal.
It is not as glitzy as some of the other Conn Ave apartment buildings - we used to live in Van Ness South which was higher up in terms of luxuries, but the Kenmore is a good solid building and is quite affordable.
I also just want to add that there is clearly one person with a vendetta against the Kenmore staff and they are obviously the ones re-posting the same psychotic sounding rants. Please ignore them - they are not at all reflective of what the Kenmore is like.
