If you like to live with roaches and mice, this is the place to be

I moved there in '04 and initially it was a nice place and clean. However, I found as years progressed, especially in the past year, the management has made less effort to maintain the building. The cleaniliness is sub-par if that. This year I have come across roaches, tons and tons of roaches. And please keep in mind that I am an extremely clean person. I have complained to the staff about this, but all they do is set sticky traps, which I found to be quite disgusting. Other residents have complained about the infestation of roaches as well as mice. There are stains on the carpet in the hallway leading to the elevator, the trash room is only cleaned once or twice a week, and the odor trickles into the hallway. The location of the building is good though, as it is in upper NW near Chevy Chase Circle and the metrobus stop to get to downtown is across the street, and Friendship Heights Metro is about a 15-18 minute walk, but other than that I can't see why people would still want to live here, which is why me and my roomate are looking to move asap.

Kenmore is over priced for the quality of the residence and has a huge turnover rate. The only people that stay there have been there forever and pay super cheap rent, or are "section 8" residents. A friend in the building used to call it "the projects of northwest". Roaches in urban locations are not anything new, once a buiding gets infested it is hard to eradicate them. I lived at the Kenmore in 1996 and there were roaches in my apartment then. To be honest all rental buildings in this part of DC are a total rip, I really dont know how people live around there. Anyone who makes that much can afford to buy, and if they can't they are spending nearly all their money on rent.
