Great location, adequate facilities

It has no amenities but it's in a great part of town. We were lucky and only paid $1320/mo on a spacious one bedroom on a higher floor facing Connecticut Ave. We realize that most other newer tenants didn't get the same break.
There's almost always someone at the front desk, but there's not always a maintenance person nearby. One Saturday night, my lock was jammed, I was told that the on-call maintenance was a 45 minute drive away and didn't have a car. My neighbor saw me in distress and helped me bang on the door knob for an hour until it opened. However, non-emergencies are normally taken care of within 1-2 days.
No major pest problems. I saw a cockroach twice in a year, and the exterminator came within a week or two. I didn't have a car, but public transportation was pretty easy.
Noise wasn't bad except for occasional yelling from the street, the tenants were diverse. The location was one of my favorite parts of DC.
