I've been living at the Normandie for over a year. My apartment is in great shape: parkay floors, ac/heating, hot water, great shower, plenty of closet space, nice sunlight etc. The building is well maintained and anytime I have a problem the repair person responds immediately. BUT!!!!! This place isn't acceptable for people with disabilities because the elevator has been broken for about 4 times in the past year. There is a SERIOUS bed bug infestation that is affecting some apartments. Luckily it hasn't hit me yet but it's a matter of time. Some of the tenants invite unsavory people into the building. The landlord can be very unprofessional at times. I've seen a total of 10 roaches since I've been here. The landlord promptly responded to my phone call and had an exterminator come in. It's in a great location, if you live on the Georgia Ave side of the building the street noise is loud. Parking is really convenient and there is a Safeway and 24 hour CVS within walking distance. This buiding has its pluses and minuses and it is not for the faint-hearted
