This is one of the oldest buildings in DC, and it's obvious. Management has little to do with the owners/tenants, and repairs to the building's crumbling infrastructure are few and far between.
The air conditioner frequently emits foul odors. All of the windows are thin and falling apart. Circuits often overload, causing your electricity to go out.
Don't even get me started on the cable/internet situation. There is one cable wire for every 7 apartments. If you live on the 2nd floor, your cable wire is split with all of the apartments directly above yours. Let's say there's a break in the cable wire on the 6th floor, then the 5 units below will all lose their internet and cable access...sometimes for months. FYI- management refuses to bring the cable wiring into the 21st century, even though Comcast has repeatedly offered to rewire the building for free.
I cannot stress enough how awful this building is. Please, do NOT waste your money on The Winthrop!
