Fine apartment for less.

I've lived in the Woodner for 1.5 years now and not had much of a problem. A couple of roaches, cat-calling annoying men, slow elevators and broken washing machines. But, all in all, it's been exactly what I'd expect of any other apartment building and it's $300 less a month. I have a 700 square foot studio apartment for $850 a month, including utilities. There are amenities galore, including a pool and on site grocery store. I got a new window a couple of weeks ago, have a huge walk-in closet and 24-hour security and maintenance. If you live in DC, and you've searched for apartments and you've looked at this website, you know that bugs and sketchy neighbors are a part of DC living. This place at least has security that will walk you up to your apartment if you're uncomfortable and an oncall exterminator should the bugs get bad. I give it a definite thumbs up for the price, location and the amenities.

Obvisiouly this person works at the Woodner Building... Oncall exterminator is not true. Bugs in this building are so bad because the half the illegal immigrants of DC live in this building. I've seen a 40 year old mexican man pissing on someone's door at 2am. The roaches here think its a 24/7 fiesta. (whether i'm talking about the roaches or the residents you make the decision) Enough said.

Clearly, your response to this post indicates your prejudice towards latinos. Your logic is based on "passionate" arguments. The example you chose to post "I've seen a 40 year old mexican man pissing on someone's door at 2am" is outrageous. How do you know this person is mexican? Are all latino's mexican? Perhaps from your racist viewpoint they are. Whoever committed the act you cited was clearly wrong, but is it an accurate reflection of the residents in the building? Of course not. What is your underlying aim here? Perhaps you should join the Minute Men on the border, because it sounds like you're fighting your own immigration battle at the Woodner. I'm sure you have more rational views then the points you're trying to make, let's hear those instead of nonsensical vitriol. I won't even discuss your implicit association between latino's (as you call them "residents") and roaches. It goes without saying how rude and isolated you are.

Thank you, zjessez. I'm looking at new apartment buildings because I'm moving to go to law school. I was wondering if there is any legitimacy to the "This is obviously management!" claim. Now, I understand it's a bunch of folks who, instead of putting forth a well-founded argument, simply lay out a circular one. What could I say to you to make you believe that I, a two-year resident (not employee!) of the Woodner, have actually enjoyed living here? Or is that not allowed on this site? I work for the Federal government, not as a manager or an employee of the Woodner. Not really interested in a job either, judging by the customers!
Also, regarding the oncall exterminator, the new management has hired one. Obviously, they won't show up at 3 am, but let the office know if you have a problem and they'll come up. It's in our lease that we get a free one every 6-months, give it a read. Also, if they haven't come by already, the exterminator and management are inspecting all the apartments for extreme bug problems in the coming weeks (just got my notice). Hopefully this will root out the real culprits of the bug problem: those who can't keep themselves or their apartments clean.
P.S. pocoypoco is right. Why is your argument entirely based on the ethnicity of the inhabitants? Frankly, your presence in the building turns me off more.
