I had a two bedroom apartment a the Woodner for four years. I loved living here and had a great view of the park. There were a couple of mninor problems while I was here, my frig brok, but it ws replaced the same day. Otherwise, I must admit that the unit ws very clean and my experience there was wonderful. I would like to commend the staff for their hard work. The building was always very clean and everyone who worked there seemed cheerful. The pool is a real treat in the summer.

The building is NOT clean and as proof of that the convienence store in the lobby was closed for a short period due to a bug infestation. Also if you do decide to check the Woodner take note of the smell especially in the hallways and you will know it is not clean. Sure you can keep your apartment clean but the smell will creep in and there is not much you can do about that. Oh and safety in 2007 there was a homicide on the 4th floor b side. People have been mugged "IN" the building..hence all the security (which you would think would make it safe but its not)As an example people just wait by the side door to sneak in because usually there is no security guards there.

No question that this review came from management trying to sneak in a positive review. Nobody who's lived at The Woodner in recent history would say that they loved it. From the bugs to surly security to the nasty, lying front office personnel to the fact that tenants had to have a police escort when handing out flyers announcing the formation of a tenants' association.

zjessez, I just moved out of The Woodner from a studio after a couple of years there. The place was really nice. If it had not been for my job moving to another state I would still be there. The effords made by the company to remodel and renovate was a awesome task. I find your allegations to be ridicoulus and slanderous. I agree with the response to your comments, you should make sure your information is correct before putting such information on a web site. Are you still at The Woodner? If so why? Can you afford to go somewhere else that would be more to your liking?

Oh, its so sad to hear such negative responses. I haven't visited the building in several years. However, to the first response, from what I can remember, the diversity of the building bought on different fragrances from the cooking of food. Now when you combine them together, it was kind of strong, but tolerable. I enjoyed walking on the 12th floor and the aroma of ethiopean food that greeted me was awesome. I often read the newspaper to see what establishment were closed due to health and sanitation reasons. Now this comment made me research the grocery store to see if there was any validity to this statement. According to my research, the store was not closed due to infestation, but due to failure to renew the business licenses (DCRA 8.13.2008) so in the future when making such allegations that can harm a business - you should do your research. Now you'v stated that there was a homiside on the 4th floor, so again, I researched your claimed and found that the homicide in the building was on another floor and in the report it states that the victim knew the person and it was not at random as your note sounds. I don't know anything about the side door or people sneaking in, therefore, I can't comment. I guess you can say what it appears to be or based on information you've received, but what I suggest is that you verify information before slandering the building.
