I have lived in this apartment building for one year and 6 months. During this time we have had various problems with the water being shut off and with the walls leaking because of the pipes. My living room was basically peeling away they were supposed to fix it in April and they did not fix it until July however, it is only August and once again the wall is bulging because the only paint over the problem.
The tenant above me left her water running and it leaked into my bedroom and hallway. I immediately went downstairs to report the problem at 9:30 at night they had someone come out however no fans were put in the room they gave me a mop and a bucket so the walls sat wet for over 12 hours. they then finally brought the fans. I had to take off of work and move my belongings to another apartment down the hall, there was no help offered. Nor any apologies from the Vice President David Meit who came into the apartment and said he would be back and never returned he let his property manager handle it.
The people who came in to scrap the ceiling began scraping while some of my things were still in the room including a crib.
Daro also inconvenienced me by having a problem with their drop box. I dropped my rent in the drop box secure in the fact that it would get to them however, the drop box did not lead to the floor, hence someone was able to stick their hand in and take my money orders for the rent. I have had to go thru numerous channels to get the money back and still haven't this was in October of 2005. I can't understand why they wouldn't have a secure drop box.
Their response is slow, there are only three washers and dryers in an apartment building that has 5 floors and for all the money they are asking for this is inadequate. They do not care about quality of living for their tenants all they care about is their money. I urge you to look somewhere else and forgo the hassels of Daro Realty. They fix a problem by putting a band aid on it and not going to the source.
On one good note the desk people are very nice and friendly.
